WHAT IS ADAS CALIBRATION?

ADAS windshield calibration is a critical process that ensures the accurate functioning of Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) in vehicles. ADAS technologies rely on various sensors and cameras mounted on the windshield to gather data and provide important safety features like lane departure warnings, automatic emergency braking, and adaptive cruise control. When a windshield is replaced or repaired, it can disrupt the calibration of these systems, requiring recalibration to maintain their effectiveness.
There are two main types of windshield calibration: static and dynamic calibration
STATIC CALIBRATION
Static windshield calibration is performed in a controlled environment. Our highly trained technicians use specialized equipment to align and calibrate the sensors, cameras, and other components of the ADAS system to their correct positions. This meticulous alignment ensures that the ADAS functions accurately and provides reliable data for your vehicle’s ADAS features.
DYNAMIC CALIBRATION
On the other hand, dynamic windshield calibration involves driving the vehicle under specific conditions to recalibrate the ADAS systems. The vehicle is driven on predetermined routes that include various road conditions, speeds, and maneuvers. As the vehicle is in motion, the ADAS sensors and cameras collect data and adjust their calibration settings in real-time. The collected data is compared to the expected values, and any deviations are corrected to ensure accurate and reliable operation of the ADAS features.
Both static and dynamic windshield calibration are essential for maintaining the optimal performance and safety of ADAS systems.
